I am 8 months old!

I am 8 months old today! Mummy cooks me a sumptuous lunch consisting of Bellamy's pasta stars with avocado, carrots & banana. It's my first attempt on avocado, so mummy wants to play it safe by mixing it with 2 other types of food that I like.. mummy is worrying too much, cos I finish them all.

Coffee/Tea break now consists of 小馒头, bread & a new addition - Healthy Times Teddy Puff thanks to SMH mummies' recommendation. And I can eat them without having to break it into smaller pieces - see how strong my gums are! (I am still bo-gay leh)

Mummy even witness me standing up by myself momentarily from sitting though I still can't balance well and fall from my standing position within a split second.

I am not sure if this is due to the after effect from the baby gym session - but Zee Yann shocked us by climbling up her stroller today while we are strolling along East Coast @ Playground.

Milestones that I have reached @ 8 months:

Physically
- hold onto support and move around (cot in particular) Or using one hand holding onto support, switch hand and turn head around while standing
- crawl up a slope or ramp easily
- move my wrist in clockwise, anti clockwise direction, mimicking waving - "bye-bye"? Or maybe it's blinking stars as in "twinkle twinkle little star"?
- hold my bottle with 1 or both hands
- bang 2 objects together (clapping hands next?)
- drop object and watch with amuse if it's dropped from a height
- turn pages of books with hands
- pull tissue out from the box and tear into pieces
- explore any types of bag

Socially, emotionally & linguistically:
- string a few syllabus such as pa-pa, ma-ma, mum-mum, ne-ne, da-da and some other non-recognizable syllabus
- chuckle easily
- demand for milk by saying "ne-ne-ne-ne" like a chant
- shake head to indicate "No" (I do not want to sleep yet!)
- express likes and dislikes
- show frustration
- able to link actions and/or names to an object (such as to crawl and reach out for her favourite 贝贝)

Others
- food repertoire has also been increased, to include new food such as fish, bread, baby biscuits, celery, watermelon, orange & avocado.
- need to be involved during mealtimes (cos I want a share too!)

My First Baby Gym Workout!

Mummy tried out new recipe for me today, brown rice with cod fish, spinach, sweet potato & carrot.. yummy! And it helps that I eat relatively fast, else we will be running late for my 1st trial at JWT Kids Gym.

Captured auntie Pearlyn (wearing black) with Aaron. See how unfocus I am!

This is fun, I enjoy climbing up the slope!

I am suppose to lie on the ball & roll with the ball, but I end up sitting on it!

Tunnel crawl - not too bad, but I need a bait in front of me to complete the course, else I will choose to just sit in the tunnel.

Rock, rock, rock.. and just as I've started to enjoy the rocking movement, all the other babies have already moved on to the highlight for the day - SWING!

Every baby loves this! And so do I!

I am unusually vocal today, see how I become the centre of attention with everyone looking at me?!

And finally, some quiet moments to explore more toys on my own as we end the 45-min session.

Orchidville... Night Safari??

I am all dressed up for Daddy's company family day @ Orchidville today, with the event ending @ Night Safari.

I could barely sit still in my stroller, not to mention on daddy or mummy's lap. And I was unusually "noisy" as well.. so much so that one of daddy's colleagues 2 year old daughter decided that she doesn't want their family to have another baby... ok mummy has to admit that Zee Yann is much more vocal this evening. So halfway through the event, daddy & mummy took me out to the open air for a slow walk - it was a nice respite from the blasting speakers.. but it would have been even better if there were more orchids in bloom.

As I am unusually cranky today, possibly due to the big & loud crowd + lack of sleep, daddy & mummy decides not to continue with the Night Safari visit. But we will be there soon!

My Feeding Schedule + Menu

My typical weekday feeding schedule at Grandma's house is as follows:

08:00am - 200ml milk
11:30am - Lunch (Porridge or Mashed carrot/pumpkin/potato/spinach/sweet potato etc..)
01:00pm - 180ml milk
04:30pm - 180ml milk
06:30pm - Dinner (Same as Lunch)
07:30pm - Fruit (Scraped apple/banana/papaya/grape etc..)
08:30pm - 180ml Milk

Mummy is still thinking how to drop 1 more milk feed, i.e. remove 1pm milk feed cos I still tend to finish most if not all of my milk feeds!

And as I am relatively active now, mummy is worried if I do not eat enough, it can't keep up with my high metabolic rate!

My First Swim!

Finally, my long awaited first swim is happening today! So glad that my swimming kaki - Cheryl has finally recovered from her nasty bout of viral infection. So off we go to Costa Del Sol..

Cheeky & posey Cheryl with her latest stunt - Supergal? Too bad we din capture pic of her "pointing the 3rd finger"..

Auntie Grace prepared a sumptuous porridge for Cheryl & myself. Lunch consists of porridge with carrot, spinach & added pork loin to enhance the taste - all doubled-boiled for several hours, no wonder it tastes so yummy!

Both Cheryl & I need to take our afternoon nap cos it's already 3+! So by the time we wake up, it's almost 5pm and yes, it's time for a good splash & workout!!

My First Father's Day Celebration!

Happy Father's Day to you daddy! And here's my first card to you for being such a wonderful dad! *Big round of applause*

And I'm learning new tricks recently. Getting bored with picking up objects on my four, I prefer to pull myself up to standing now. The moment I get hold of some support, up I go!! Next, I will try to maintain my balance, let go of my hands/grip.. & down I come!!

My First Picnic!

Tea break time...

Mummy decides to introduce new snack during tea-time today. Super duper expensive 小馒头.. & being new to such "hard" texture, it took me a while for my gum to get the acts right.. & it's 1,2,3... 10 in total! Not an easy feat considering that I am still bo-gay!

Picnic time!

The weather seems good in the late afternoon, so off we go to Pasir Ris Park for some fresh air. As it's a wkend cum school holiday, it's packed with people doing all sorts of activities! And here I am to join in the fun too!

My 4th PD visit

I am due for my 2nd pneumococcal jab today. As usual, it feels like an "insect bite" on my butt & before I can protest, the pain is already gone. No reason to cry out loud, so I juz make some noise to make sure they acknowledge my complain. (Hush hush baby) And today I weigh 8.3kg & 71.7cm (7 months & 1 week).

Thank goodness I did not develop any fever nor other symptoms within the next few hours, & off we go for dinner @ Ms Clarity Cafe.

See how active I am (4 hours after my jab)

Can't sit still in a high chair (wonder waz so interesting behind.. can't stopped looking around)

I can pull myself up to sitting with ease now

3 days ago, I managed to pull myself up to sitting for the very first time but somehow daddy thought it was more of a coincidence that I got it right.

And as if to prove them wrong, I repeatedly pull myself up to sitting a few times tonite & it's so amusing to see them getting all so excited as they witness my "stunts".

My first 端午节!

I didn't know cousins Matthew & Jonathan will be dropping by grandma's place today & it was indeed a pleasant surprise to see them again. I heard they've just returned from Gold Coast - how exciting & fun it must have been! And it's so sweet of cousin Matthew to remember me & got me a gift, again! How blessed I am..

There were so many people around & mummy decides to give my milk feeding in the room in case I get too distracted. And in no time, I'm back to my regular exercise regime.. heehee

No Baby, you can't put everything into your mouth!!

As much as I am exhausted, I barely sleep an hour in the afternoon & I am awake. Since I appear to be rather alert, mummy decides that we might as well go out earlier to meet more frenz of my age.

Do we all look like we are born around the same month??!!

Kyros is catching up real fast (even tho he is barely 4 months old) & look how happy Destinee is! I am a bit cranky & can't help but to catch a quick nap.. cos I am so tired today.. *yawn*
