The supposedly 2 hour guided tour consists of a visit to the 6 galleries and complete with an outdoor tour of the vicinity. But its actually shorter than that so it gives us ample time to stroll along the barrage and even return to the gallery for a re-tour.
Gallery 1 - Something new?
Look out for the "organic tree" (symbolises the uncertain state of our present environment) and the "NEWater bottles feature wall" which Zee Yann tries so hard, but fails to pull out.
Gallery 2 - A river runs through it
Think back our old smelly Singapore and Kallang river in the 70s.
Gallery 3 - Water, water everywhere.
Here, ABC denotes Active, Beautiful, Clean.. and coming soon in our vicinity will be the floating wetland @ Punggol Reservoir, connected to the future Sengkang Fruit Park via a suspension bridge and a floating boardwalk.
Gallery 4 - The Marina Barrage
You get to see a demonstration of how the dam works.
Gallery 5 - Small country, Big efforts
An interesting gallery showcasing Singapore's careful planning and management in maximising the use of our limited land area. Another Zee Yann's favourites as you get to "trod on those transparent panels"; it took her some time to confidently roam the whole place.
Gallery 6 - I Do
A sustainable environment is possible only with everyone's commitment and participation. Do your little part for our environment now!
